Pan-Fax
(Mobile Faxing In The Vehicle)
|
|
| |
The PM80 is the
world's first hardcopy mobile cellular fax machine. It
brings faxes to everyday places out of the office : in
vehicles, at airports or at home. See Interconnection
Information .
Wherever you make cellular phone calls, you can now send
and receive faxes at the touch of a single key. The PM80
connects to a PC card for your mobile phone or a Cellular
Phone Card (Ericsson or Nokia).
The PM80 is upgradeable
to access internet and to print web pages and download
e-mail. The type of cellular systems this unit can be
connected to are : GSM 900, DCS 1800, PCS 1900 and handsets
such as Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens and Motorola.
Connection Options
Connection Options*
There are presently two ways of connecting the PM-70
cellular fax machines to the cellular networks. Although
we recommend that it is only used with the Nokia Card
Phone 2 since it is designed to be a stand-alone unit.
In order for the device to operate on a cellular network,
a GSM SIM card (Subscriber Identity Module) must be
inserted into the these devices and must be connected
to a cellular network. These SIM cards are commonly
available from most cellular dealers.
Nokia Phone Card 2: This most popular method is simple
and allows the PM70/80 to become a stand alone fax/voice
machine. The Nokia Phone Card 2 works in the GSM 900
and GSM 1800 MHz range (please check to ensure your
country operates within these bands). The phone card
plugs into the bottom of the cellular machines in a
specially constructed interface.

infra red transfer of date. These phones can simply transmit
the data to the infra red port of the PM70/80 fax machines.

and allows the PM70/80 to become a stand alone fax machine.
The Nokia Phone Card 2 works in the GSM 900 and GSM 1800

Use
In the United Kingdom
At present the PM70 (connected using the Nokia Phone Card

networks.
However, in order to work properly you need to have a

issued FREE and are easily obtained by contacting your
cellular service provider.
When these separate numbers are issued, the PM70 is able
to distinguish all incoming calls and automatically directs
all Faxes to be instantly printed. In coming voice calls
ring as normal until the handset is lifted from its cradle.
